On Thurs. Sep. 2^nd, Mercury goes direct, headed toward its third opposition with Uranus on the 14^th, when the new moon conjuncts Mars. All this symbolizes the hurricanes hitting the coasts of the Southeastern U.S.A., combined with political hurricanes, terror attacks, oil pipelines being blown up, and crises in financial markets due to all these things. Whew! All this comes following the Republican Convention’s self-congratulatory wallowing in spin, lies and “girlie boys”!

In the meantime, the truth about joblessness, the disappearance of the middle class, 45 million people without health insurance, and a black hole war in Iraq keeps creeping out to haunt the Republicans. Sen. John Kerry has allowed himself to be “pre-empted” by the ridiculous “swift boat” ads that are actually influencing people who seem to be cutting their own throats by ignoring issues that could effectively collapse the American economy along with anyone’s “American Dream” in just a few short years.

As Pluto squares Mars between the 9^th and the 10^th on Sen. Kerry’s Sun, squaring his Moon and Saturn the following week, I recommend he take a page from Arnold’s muscle and empire-building philosophy and get mad enough to “terminate” his opponent before his opponent attacks again! He needs to wake up to the fact that there is nothing remotely “civilized” about the Bush campaign squad.

Once again, I would interpret this month’s astrological climates as analogous to the Chinese curse: “May you live in interesting times.”

THE ECONOMY and FOREIGN RELATIONS:

No matter how hard the “cabal” works to control the stock market, oil prices, continued violence in Iraq, and bad economic news here will make their job difficult, if not impossible, especially the week of the 13^th. We may see a substantial move upward in gold this month due to global instabilities and a possible attack on the United States either on its own soil or a naval vessel or embassy abroad, possibly in the Philippines or Indonesia.

Another trouble spot is in Kashmir, the old battleground between India and Pakistan. There has been a substantial effort between these nations to keep the peace, but insurgents could spell trouble for them. Argentina’s chart gets hit by the new moon/Mars conjunction. Their entire economic infrastructure went into bankruptcy a couple of years ago and they have been desperately trying to get on their feet. Interestingly, they have recently been buying gold.

The September 21^st, 1932 Natal Chart of Saudi Arabia is being activated by transiting Saturn hitting their Pluto/Saturn opposition, and the new moon/Mars configuration hitting their Mercury. Most importantly, Pluto just went direct right on their natal ascendant, squaring their Mercury. This country’s oil is vital to worldwide economic stability. These aspects suggest volcanic shakeups within the royal family plus an increase in policing their oil wells. They will make an effort to get at terror groups within their country and all this will increase the hostility of its fundamentalist Islamic population toward the government. They are being squeezed by the U.S.A. to keep oil production high and they know their oil is a finite resource that is nearing exhaustion in a few short years. This nation is in a very difficult situation, to say the least.

Russia is enduring a series of terror attacks by Islamic rebels from Chechnya. The issues around Yukos, their largest oil company, have yet to be resolved. Russian oil is vital to the world economy. China and Japan have been competing for the Russian oil coming through the Siberian pipeline. Many of the pipelines for Russian oil are under dispute because of the toll position exacted from the countries on which they would be built.

Pluto just went direct on the Russian Mars a couple of days ago, and Chechyn rebels took a school hostage. Prime Min. Vladamir Putin will now institute significant actions to take control.

Iraq is still very much a magnet for terrorists and insurgents and this month is no exception. Already, two pipelines have been blown up within the past week. I do not see much success here until Jupiter goes into Libra (September 26^th 2004 – October 26^th 2005).

Back in the U.S.A., Mars in Virgo in square aspect to Pluto will issue more bad news about employment as more people will be getting their pink slips. Automation, outsourcing, and economic slowdown are all reasons for this. The so-called “recovery” has slowed to a standstill at this point. The only place that seems to be still doing well is real estate and that area will slow down as interest rates rise, due to inflation caused by substantial increases in energy prices. The other industry most affected by oil prices is the airline sector. Many airlines are considering bankruptcy and there is a real danger to the solvency of their pension funds.

I would advise my readers to stay out of the stock market this month. Things look very bearish but the manipulators from behind the scenes have saved up billions to keep the market from falling too much. It will be interesting to observe how much “in control” they really are!

WEATHER & TRAVEL

As I have mentioned above, this month and October may make history as hurricanes will be mustering strength under the oppositions of Mercury to Uranus, followed by Mercury conjuncting Jupiter and then Mars at the end of the month. This is certainly not a good time to plan trips to Florida or any of the southeastern states. In addition, Mercury’s opposition to Uranus increases mechanical glitches and computer problems that you may all have noticed from last month’s Mercury retrograde opposition to Uranus. Although Mercury is now direct, the glitches are still potentially with us. These problems could lead to delays at airports and terminals.

HEALTH & MEDICINE

Last month’s retrograde Mercury opposite Uranus can also be found in the U.S.A.’s manufacture and storage of flu vaccine that became contaminated, and the Public Health entities have had to start all over again. Thus, there may be a delay in getting your vaccinations. I don’t see patterns connected with colds and flu till between November and December.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The times we are in require of us a very unique combination of abilities. Number One: We need to commit ourselves to EXCAVATING TRUTHS that are often buried by public lies and media spin. Number Two: We need to EVOKE A CHANGE in direction in the macrocosm (government and industry), and microcosm (our own backyards) that is in line with the principles we all know work: democracy, equal opportunity to compete, and an infrastructure that supports the people of this nation.

What we currently have is a handful of powerful corporations that are outsourcing jobs to cheap labor forces in other nations, devastating the global climate and natural environments, and buying out the judicial, legislative and executive levels of government so they remain unchecked and uncontrolled by anyone. They do not care about anybody but themselves, their billions in salaries, packages, and stock options. Since they more or less control the media, we are getting very little real reporting on television, with the exception of Lou Dobbs on CNN and Bill Moyers on PBS, for whom I am endlessly grateful.

Most of all, we as a nation have literally “gone to sleep”, because many of us are ignorant, exhausted, and frightened. History has taught us that when people become ignorant, exhausted and frightened, bad guys take the reins of power, and, before you know it, our democracy, our freedom, our very nation is threatened with extinction!

Let us summon our passion, our energy, our resolve to not only turn the tide but create a new one! I know we can do this. And we can do this together.
