The Establishment vs. The
People
Senator Ted Kennedy, a most
significant protector and proponent of what our constitution calls “the
people”, died last month before his lifelong mission of legislation for
universal healthcare could be passed by the congress. So many have
lovingly eulogized him in the past several days, I won’t attempt to do
so here, but my heart is saddened for our country’s loss.
Whatever your politics,
Kennedy truly cared about the people he served. So few people in
positions of power seem to care about anything at all but hedging their
bets, accumulating their fortunes, and collecting campaign funds from
corporate lobbies. Now that a bill is emerging, health insurance
companies have carefully orchestrated the appearance of “dissenters” in
town hall meetings who are screaming about their constitutional rights
(they wouldn’t know what the constitution says if it flew up and hit
them in the face); that the government should stay out of their lives
and health care choices. Meanwhile, millions are watching their health
insurance premiums double in price, are turned away for treatment, have
lost their jobs due to catastrophic illness, and are forced to appear
instead in emergency rooms of hospitals around the nation.
Whose Rights?
With respect to government
power and our rights, I am more concerned about government interference
through wiretapping, invasion of privacy, and their ability to arrest
any of us without charging us with a crime – the Bush mandates that have
not disappeared under the oversight of the so-called “new”
administration. I am disturbed that our mainstream media, owned by huge
corporations are filled with character assassinations, distorted news
items omitting major information about the issues, and tabloid sewerage
that is better flushed away privately in bathrooms than “revealed” on
television. I am appalled that giant food and pharmaceutical
corporations can ignore or hide information that threatens public health
and have contributed to the health crises we face today. Our
legislature, on both sides of the aisle, has been busy as bees for the
past 30 years making laws to protect these corporations because they
contribute major money to their campaigns.
This nation’s economy is
burning away as fast as the wild fires in California are burning through
dry acreage. Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan Chase are still trading
hundreds of trillions of dollars in exotic derivatives and collecting
bigger than ever bonuses. There
has been no substantial
structural change in our banking and financial systems. Private debt
has been transferred into public debt. The dollar is sinking. Real
unemployment is around 18% and climbing.
We have reached peak oil, peak
water, peak topsoil and are being poisoned by uranium ash and effluent
from coal mining and coal burning. The majority of the world’s top
scientists acknowledge rapidly accelerating climate change, due at least
in part, to human activity. Yet, the coal and oil lobbies in Washington
are winning.
Saturn symbolizes the
“powers-that-be” – those whose wealth puts them in control – the
institutions whose energy goes into maintaining themselves either for
the greater good through maintaining order or at every one else’s
expense. Uranus represents innovation, change, and the interests of the
people-at-large. When they stand up against one another, history tells
us that the darkest expressions of each of these planetary archetypes
seem to present themselves. They do not seem to be willing to
compromise or modify their positions. Instead, they go head to head on
the defensive and nobody wins. Sen. Ted Kennedy’s strength was his
determination to accomplish his goal and his ability to make compromises
with the other side of the isle in order to get the job done. The void
that is left in his absence will either be filled with demons or
angels. Stay tuned!
Weather & Travel:
Watch out for tropical storm
activity to be serious and reoccurring back and forth as Mercury
retrograde is square Pluto and opposition Uranus through Oct. 11th.
Travel is especially dangerous the week of the 20th.
The Economy
Mercury will retrograde from
September 7th through the 29th, from Libra back
into Virgo, marching over a square with Pluto, conjunction with Saturn
and opposition with Uranus. The new moon on the 18th will
hit the Saturn/Uranus opposition. The Cabal will likely be unable to
continue the “spin” about the bogus economic “recovery” as more layoffs,
bankruptcies, and foreclosures hit the proverbial fan. Pluto goes
direct on September 11th, making another opposition to the
U.S.A. Venus (currency) and emergency meetings will be held behind
closed doors about the fate of the dollar. Oddly, I do not think gold
will move upward in a major sense since Venus in Leo will oppose Neptune
and inconjunct Uranus between the 15th and the 16th.
A bullish gold move will likely take place in October.
The new chart for Goldman
Sachs is getting hit this month and will get a harder hit between April
and July of 2010. Could we see more disclosures of their tactics to
enrich themselves at the expense of the global economy? Who will blow
the whistle this time around?
Pres. Obama announced his
reappointment of Ben Bernanke to Chair the Federal Reserve, who was
clueless about the crashing mortgage market in 2007 and rushed to save
the guys at the top – the big banks who committed all the crimes against
solvency and are rewarding themselves with raises and bonuses.
Interestingly, Ron Paul seems to be making headway with Congress as his
bill to audit the Federal Reserve will come out of committee this
month. I do not agree with Ron Paul that the government should get out
of everything, including social security and health care, but I agree
with his total honesty about the economy, the gold standard, fiat money,
and the unsustainable debt in which this nation is now drowning. I
question the value of the existence of the Federal Reserve, a cartel of
banks acting in their own interests. They are supposed to provide
stability in the banking system. Recent history has thrown that idea
out the window! I appreciate Ron Paul’s voting against the Iraq war
(as did Ted Kennedy) and his conviction that we should stay out of wars
with nations who do not attack us. The escalating war in Afghanistan is
taking another shredding device to our economy and the national deficit.
The only positive thing about
appointing Bernanke is that the president did not appoint Lawrence
Summers, as had been suggested. Summers is the architect of global
financial deregulation and a major force in the collapse of economies
throughout the world. He convinced many sovereign wealth funds to
invest in derivatives connected to toxic mortgages back in 2007. He is
behind getting rid the the Glass-Steagal Act and passing the Commodities
Modernization Act at the end of the Clinton years to which I have
referred in past newsletters.
Other Nations:
Nations whose charts are
taking hits from the Saturn/Uranus opposition are: Columbia, Honduras,
Mexico, The Netherlands, and Egypt. They will all suffer from threats
to their leadership, ethnic and religious rivalries, and problems with
immigration. Afghanistan’s election, widely believed to be fraudulent,
will not solve its underlying problem; that it is a nation in name only
and a poor and unorganized group of tribes who are living no differently
that they did 1000 years ago, and whose only economy is based on
narcotics.
President Barak Obama:
To date, the promises made for
real substantial change in direction by this president are not
appearing. Thus, he is losing both the progressive constituency and the
“independents” that helped get him elected. We must recognize that he
came into office coinciding with the biggest economic collapse in modern
history, two unjustifiable and terrible wars, serious climate change,
and at the end of the age of oil. But I expected to see a person who
“stood for something” at his core. To date, many are questioning just
where he stands on the significant issues of our time. However, it is
evident that every great leader has not necessarily started out being
great. Lincoln was not against slavery at first and Roosevelt made many
failed attempts to turn the great depression around without success.
Both of them eventually stood up and fought for powerful ideas that
changed the course of history.
My take is that President
Obama is a Faustian figure; a man who has made a deal with the Devil in
order to attain this high office. The Devil, in this case, is composed
of the financial “cabal” of bankers and corporations who have controlled
America for a long time. The Roosevelts had their own money and
historic stature as did the Kennedys. Obama, who, relatively speaking,
came out of thin air, has defined himself by marching through the
established corridors and pathways to success – top student at Harvard
and Columbia Universities, being popular with everybody and stirring up
no controversy. If he had been in any sense “controversial” as an
African American in the U.S., he probably would not have gotten to first
base. He paid his dues and has also paid a big price.
Now the time of reckoning is
descending upon him. It is becoming obvious that he is continuing many
of the economic and military policies that the worst president in modern
times, George W. Bush, put into place. He has appointed as his most
important advisors either Cabal members or Cabal camp followers. He can
no longer get by on personal charm and a good speech.
In October, Saturn enters
Libra and will square Pluto for nearly a year. Mars enters the sign of
Leo (Obama’s Sun sign) and will go back and forth in this sign
(retrograde/direct) between October 17th 2009 through June 7th
2010. Amidst the crises these planets precipitate, he could get rid of
many of the insider “bad guys” and bring in economists and advisors who
have intelligence, integrity, and a passion to work with him to change
the course of history. He could define what he really believes and who
he really is. Ironically, it is possible he could risk everything by
doing so, but if he does not, he risks losing his soul. The choice, in
the last analysis, is only his to make.
