 September 2007

 This is a month in which the consequences of the roulette wheel economy comprised of sub-prime mortgage lending, notional derivatives contracts valued at around $500 Trillion, and many financial corporations controlled by the reincarnated robber barons will present themselves to us in the form of market crashes and sell-offs, the bottom of which nobody can predict!

The September 11th solar eclipse is opposed Uranus and square Mars, emphasizing chaos, war, and terrorism mixed together in a toxic confusing brew.  There is a very real danger that terrorists will try to attack the U.S.A. again.  There is a very real possibility that Pres. Bush will move toward war with Iran, in addition to continuing with the one in Iraq.  We will begin to realize that this country is rapidly marching toward fiscal and moral bankruptcy.  

Fasten your seat belts as the race to the bottom begins.

The Economy:

As stated above, this is a month in which the controls come off.  I would recommend to my readers that you stay in cash for the time being, even though the dollar is sinking.  Everything else is too risky.  I think the markets will fall and take just about everything down with them, including gold and commodities.  There may be a good buying opportunity for gold at the end of the month.  As I have stated before, I am of the opinion that gold will reach new highs in 2008.  There may be opportunities for silver as well.  Wait until the dust clears before doing anything. 

Banks and financial institutions that we thought were bullet-proof will surprise us and the news will not be good.  Bank rating services have recently been unreliable.  In addition, global networks have linked good lending institutions with bad ones.  On a local level, you need to check out smaller banks in your region that have no sub-prime mortgages and lots of reserve assets.  There is no substitute for visiting the bank in person.

The Federal Reserve is damned if it raises interest rates and damned if it doesn’t.  I think they will choose the lesser evil and either lower rates or stay the same.  Other nations are losing faith in our economy and there is a real danger that China may start dropping their financing of our debt.  However, it is not in their interests to crash our dollar since their interests are still entwined around ours.  Their currency crashed in 1997.  I think they are likely to hang on for now.

There will likely be global panics that take your breath away.  Stay calm, centered, and keep your powers of observation steady.

Politics:

The crises will throw many campaigns up in the air as everyone will be interviewed as to what they would do if they were in office at this time.  So far, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich have been the only truth-tellers and they are on opposite sides of the political spectrum.  They also have little or no chance of getting their parties’ nominations.

If our nation is attacked, Rudi Gulianni (a Gemini), will get attention because of his 9/11 image as America’s mayor.  Remember, he never fought in a war and was not well liked before the attack on New York.

Other Nations:

Pakistan will likely make changes in its leadership this month to avoid its own march toward civil war.  Things are very dangerous and volatile in this nation.  If the wrong people get control, they have a nuclear arsenal.

No. Korea:

The September 11th eclipse falls on their natal Sun bringing all the volatility of these configurations into their nation.  Their government may be in trouble.

United Kingdom:

The Mars in Gemini makes things more dangerous in London as well as here in the U.S.A.  They will also have to decide whether or not to join forces with the Bush administration in its determination to bomb Iran.

China:

This nation will be affected by global financial crises.  They will also have local problems to solve such as life-threatening pollution from factories and mines.  Their air is becoming unsafe to breathe and their rivers so chemically polluted there is no way in site to clean them up.  I have reason to believe their government has been buying gold for quite some time to shore up their economy in case the dollar falls.

Weather & Travel:

With Mars in Gemini square Uranus between the 1st and the 5th and then opposed Pluto between the 20th and the 22nd, I would predict high winds that could develop into a hurricane or tornadoes in the U.S.A. this month.  I would tend to put travel plans on hold for a while to play it safe.

Final Thoughts:

These are very challenging times and it is often tempting to run away from all the demons rising in the world today.  After all, we did not necessarily create this bogus economy, this horrible war, the energy crisis, global warming, or even the proliferation of terrorists here and throughout the world.

However, this  kind of reasoning promotes not voting or voting for idiots, ignoring signs of decay, looking away from hostile and failing policies abroad, endless oil and gas consumption and endlessly charging our future into endless debt.  You and I all have participated in some way in loosing the contents of Pandora’s Box.  We must assume this responsibility because if we don’t, we cannot possibly correct our course.

I am seeing signs of people rising – real people, not fakes designed by Corporate America, gangster politicians, and religious fanatics.  In Washington, there is a term called “populist” for people not interested in entrenched wealth and power elites.  Whew!  I thought this was a country with a government designed for and by the people.  And they are coming out of obscurity now –coming back from the nearly dead – coming back from being broke – forming coalitions in local communities – writing books and articles.  You can’t keep them back, you can’t slow them down.  The tide is turning.  The constellations are mandating changes in human civilization that will restore the greatness that we never really lost!
