Mercury
direct, retrograde, direct!
Global warming
melting the giant glaciers is nothing compared to the financial meltdown
in the banking system in the U.S. and throughout most of the rest of the
world. The cracks and fissures in insane and irresponsible lending
finally gave way and the avalanche took the stock market down with it,
then back up, then back down again. Gold rocketed upward, then
downward, then upward, then downward as the “cabal” worked at continuing
their manipulative tactics in futures markets and derivatives.
Meanwhile, hedge funds are melting away to the tune of trillions of
dollars doing a disappearing act. Of course, this money was never
“real” anyway, but the money put into them did exist (past tense).
Interestingly,
I have heard no discussion about the massive derivatives trade, upwards
around $700 Trillion. The bailout package to recapitalize the banks is
deemed inflationary, because the Feds will have to print a lot of
money. We do not have this money as our federal budget deficits are so
large, it boggles the mind. So Great Depression specialist, Ben
Bernanke, (Helicopter Ben when he was reported to say he would drop
money from a helicopter if necessary) is partnering with Hank Paulson
(who absolutely loved this economy just a few months ago) to print and
pour cash into the system. I think that the inflation will become
deflation for the following reason: i.e. the hundreds of trillions of
dollars rapidly going down the fissures in hedge fund derivatives.
Where did you
hear all this before? Hmmmm!
The Economy
& the Bailout:
The selfish
narcissistic legislature, whose campaigns in both parties were
subsidized by the wealthy global gamblers, now are “outraged” and
responded to the voters’ anger by not passing the plan. Mercury is
retrograde until the 15th. They will likely pass a modified version in
order to avoid a total credit collapse, banks closing, the return of the
roaring ‘30’s, etc. If it is a done deal before the 15th, you can count
on significant alterations in this legislation being made later on.
Pres. Bush’s own party have totally trashed him by voting against all
his pleas and mandates for the cause. Couldn’t happen to a better man.
However, the planetary patterns are stirring up more crises this month
and next as Venus and Mars transit Scorpio, raking up more political
scandals, and stimulating violence and war in the Middle East and
Eastern Europe, resulting in a rally in gold between now and November.
You might consider selling some of your positions in metals, and buy
back in later on. There is a big difference between gold as listed on
television, which is paper gold or gold futures, and the price of actual
gold. They have literally run out of American Buffalo gold coins and
there is a global shortage. What
ever happened
to the laws of supply and demand? The “cabal” is what happened.
Dates to watch
are Mercury square Jupiter on the 7th, its direct station on the 15th
semi-sextile Mars, and an inconjunction to Uranus on the 28th. These
patterns turn up the financial crisis thermometer. Venus’ transit in
Scorpio emphasizes the vulnerability of currencies and may be effecting
the Euro-dollar.
Politics &
Candidates:
Things will get
dicey this month, as Scorpio planets tend toward dirty dancing. These
planets will not favor Sara Palin, as they are square her collection of
planets in Aquarius. Her husband’s membership in an Alaskan
secessionist organization doesn’t bode well for her bid to be Vice
President, nor does her lack of knowledge of almost any significant
policy; be it economic or foreign. More will come out about John McCain
as well, especially his general attitude towards women. Barak Obama
will not escape the rumor mill and as Mars enters Scorpio, he may
actually show some anger. He has been so cool up to now, he seems
overly “removed” and detached. This will change, as things heat up.
It is obvious
that the condition of the economy will favor Obama, but he needs to be
more emphatic in his delivery in debates. The transiting South Node
will be hitting his Sun in November, near his 7th house of partnership
and could affect his running mate or his wife.
Scorpio and
Oil:
The planet
Pluto and the sign of Scorpio have long been associated with oil,
although Pisces and Neptune are also strongly involved with the black
gold. In the 1970’s when Uranus was transiting Scorpio, oil skyrocketed
in price with the Arab oil crisis and embargoes. Oil has come down
lately, with demand destruction due to people cutting back because they
can’t afford high gas prices. However, conditions could evoke changes
in this between now and November, due to crises in the oil producing
nations. I am concerned about turmoil in Israel and their relationship
with Iran. In addition, with the conflict in Georgia, I am concerned
that Scorpio Russia will be flexing their muscles over Eastern European
pipelines.
Pakistan:
This is a
nation torn asunder with a new head of state, the widower of
assassinated Prime Minister Bhutto, who was convicted of crimes against
the state a few years ago. In the border regions where the “tribals”
live interactively with the Taliban in Afghanistan, the central state
has little or no control. Pakistan is armed with nuclear weapons and
who knows who could get control over these arsenals. The general public
there is suffering from shortages in water supplies and electricity.
They could be marching toward a failed state. The Bush administration
has been bombing the border regions, mostly killing people in wedding
parties and school children. Our policy in this region is insane and
bankrupt, requiring a completely different approach than a military
one. Neither McCain nor Obama has a well thought out policy here. This
month and into November, their chart is getting activated.
Weather and
Travel:
This
retrograde Mercury in Libra is making many of the same unstable aspects
it made last month, when Hurricane Ike hit and destroyed Galvaston,
Texas. This would suggest there will be more serious storms and high
winds this month, so be careful around planning trips by air.
Final
Thoughts:
When my book,
“What Next” was first published, in June 2007, it scared people. So
many did not want to know what the future may hold or participate in
changing it in any meaningful way. Others actually altered their plans
and positioned themselves for the crises ahead and are now very glad
they did so.
I am getting
many phone calls and emails responding to the events I predicted and I
am touched by people’s willingness to listen, to explore options, to see
things differently. To say that crisis can precipitate necessary
changes is a hackneyed statement, but very true. It is never too late
to redirect our lives, to reignite our passion to make the earth a
better place, to be part of the monumental historic challenge that could
possibly give birth to a new and elevated human experience.
Written in the
constellations is only a possibility. Engraved in the human heart is a
promise.
