Pluto
transits into Capricorn
Welcome to the Great Awakening!
Coming out of our collective coma has been a riveting and painful
experience, but it sure beats being in a coma. The unconscionable
manipulation of the United States financial structure and its ensuing
destruction (while we were asleep) was a collaborative effort. The
global gamblers on Wall Street trading in the most exotic derivatives
and financial instruments ever conceived were aided and abetted by the
Federal Reserve, the Dept of the Treasury, and a president whose
“religion” had nothing whatsoever to do with the teachings of Moses
(remember his dashing of the tablets when the children of Israel were
caught worshiping the “golden calf”), or Jesus Christ (whose only known
outburst recorded in the Bible was throwing out the money changers).
Nor did the teachings of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, the Sikhs or any
other surviving historic religious tradition support anaesthetizing
ourselves with the notion that we are entitled to make big money at any
cost to the greater good. Well, the drugs have worn off, we have “come
to”, and the Faustian bargain we made with Gordon Gekko has stolen many
American souls, along with those of much of the rest of the world, who
got on board the somatic cruise to Greed-is-Good Island. Yes, the
financial tsunami has now hit, we have washed up on our own shores, wide
awake and looking around for other survivors, if, indeed, they do exist.
What Now?
Those who have been visiting this site know that I am a proponent of
being awake.
It
may hurt at first, facing the landscape of foreclosures, job losses,
homelessness and despair that is the result of the sort of Mafia
Capitalism that brought on the last Great Depression of the 1930s. And
we have, as collateral damage, generations of young people, many of whom
have grown to expect a largely materialistic life, consisting of instant
gratification.
However, I now think we may be on a long march to sanity, an entirely
new economic system, the restoration of our lost democracy, and an
unprecedented raising of consciousness. By 2017, we may witness the
“bottom” of this economic and political cycle and a movement to rebuild
new societal institutions on the ashes of the old. We may be
implementing a “Green New Deal”, reconstituting our infrastructure with
sustainable energy, a coast to coast magnet train system, recycled water
systems, and local organic farming.
The
Election:
I
have avoided trying to predict the outcome of the presidential
election. Astrologers are pretty much split down the middle and do not
have a great track record in this regard. The American electorate will
decide, that is, if it is an honest election. That is my greatest
concern. With Neptune square Mars and Uranus opposite Saturn, there
will be doubts concerning fraud and rigging of election machinery. On
the positive side, Mercury sextile Pluto promises a great turnout. As
Gandhi said, “We must be the change we wish to see in the world”.
The
Economy:
Between Nov. 10th and 12th, Venus is conjunct
Pluto at a critical 29 degrees of Sagittarius, representing currency
crises and more wealth destruction. Venus in Capricorn in favorable
aspect to Saturn and Uranus, especially toward the end of the month,
points to bullishness in gold. Last month’s downward spiral in the gold
Comex, was a result of the stock market collapse and people’s propensity
to sell anything they had that would be worth something, to stem massive
losses. Real gold was selling at a much higher rate throughout the
month, and there are shortages in the availability of gold.
Oil
prices will start to rise again this month as the demand starts to rise
due to an expected colder and snowier winter.
The full moon in Taurus on the 13th, square Neptune,
highlights confusion and pessimism about the economy and the
ineffectiveness of Sec. Paulson’s policy of handing over money to bank
executives rather than into the accounts of real people ready to enter
foreclosure. These “people in charge”, the CEOs of the banks that
implemented the massive destruction of credit in the first place (and
were not fired), are busy buying out other banks, NOT renegotiating
mortgages with the hapless citizens in foreclosure. And, by the way,
they are busy as bees budgeting in their end-of-the-year bonuses. Mars
enters Sagittarius on Nov. 17th through Dec. 27th.
This activates military adventures and points to more spending of
billions of dollars we no longer have. We are marching toward making
debt payments by printing lots and lots of money, thrown from
helicopters.
There will be high hopes that a new president will generate new ideas
and move us in a different direction.
Israel:
The
news media has neglected the Israeli election and the fact that Prime
Minister Omert resigned and is under indictment. Tzipi Livni, is
running against former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is
currently ahead in the polls. Conflict abounds in this nation as
Neptune, Mars and Mercury hit their national chart. They have been
itching to attack Iran and are at odds with each other over Lebanon and
Syria. Anything they do this month of that nature will be regretted
later on.
Pakistan:
This nation continues to suffer planetary patterns that destabilize. I
focus on this nation because they are crucially connected to the war in
Afghanistan. They have nuclear weapons and may be headed toward a civil
war and/or a failed state. Recently, they suffered an earthquake near
the disputed border. The next U.S. president races a real nightmare
here.
Venezuela:
Pluto in late Sagittarius is hitting this chart and threatening Hugo
Chavaz’s control of the state. He will likely fight back. His enemies
are at the gate. We’ll see who wins the conflict. Lower oil prices
have hurt their economy.
Russia:
The
Russian stock market collapsed recently. Their only major product is
oil, but they have a lot of gold in reserve. The Scorpio planets are
stirring them up this month. In one sense, their gold reserves protect
them from insolvency. In another sense, the collapse of western
financial markets affects their economy. They will react aggressively
to any perceived threat from NATO or the USA, reigniting fears of
another Cold War. They have enough in reserves to weather the financial
meltdown. Our focused attention needs to be here. With Pluto going
into Capricorn, they will reassert themselves.
China:
This nation is experiencing a Jupiter return and a Saturn return. A
change of leadership is arriving. Next year, Jupiter in Aquarius would
seem to generate optimism on their part, but Jupiter was in Aquarius in
1997, when Asian currencies melted down. Massive and rapid
industrialization without pollution controls have poisoned their air and
water and the toxic substance, melamin is appearing in their food
chain. The now- troubled American consumer has fueled their great
economic expansion, the American dollar is in question, and they have to
decide what to do with their currency, the yuan. In addition, they own
an enormous stake in the U.S. debt through their purchase of our
treasuries. In recent years, they have been accumulating gold reserves,
which may help stabilize them within an otherwise chaotic environment.
They have oil deals with Iran, disapproved of by the U.S. New
leadership in the U.S. could project either pessimism or hope. There
are struggles going on behind the scenes, as Jupiter returns to their 12th
House of Secrets.
Turkey:
This is a key ally of the U.S., is a key location in the Middle East to
oil commerce. Unfortunately, it has received very little attention from
our news media. As I predicted, as Pluto is opposition their Moon, they
have been struggling with the Kurds in Iraq and civil conflicts within
their own borders. The Mars/Neptune square this month is right on their
Venus/Neptune square, highlighting their struggle in defining themselves
economically and ethnically. There also may be earthquake activity in
this area. This nation needs to be high on the agenda of the next U.S.
president.
Weather & Travel:
Temperatures in the U.S. will likely be mild until Venus goes into
colder Capricorn on the 12th. Travel this month does not
look too bad. The first two weeks of December look problematic as Mars
and Mercury in traveler Sagittarius are square Uranus and Saturn.
Neptune’s square to the full moon in
Taurus would seem to stimulate earthquake activity.
Final Thoughts:
Throughout the world, humankind has experienced an unprecedented
explosion of population. We have plundered the topsoil, the forests,
the fresh water supplies, oil, gas, coal as if there were no tomorrow.
Well, tomorrow is here. Global climate change, the loss of topsoil,
scarcity of fresh water may lead to mass starvation. Aggregate
pollution threatens to warm the climate to unsustainable to life
levels. A wave of collective greed and unfettered pirating of the
global financial system by a handful of Plutocrats will cost all of us
beyond any present perception.
The greater mystery lies in the choices we make, both as individuals
and collectively. I happen to think, in my better moments, that we may
just possibly be seized with a passion to save the planet, and ourselves
with it. It will take an epiphany of such magnitude that we
authentically contact a greater light, shining deep within our better
selves.
Residing in deep space around the constellations are truths we have
never clearly understood, but nonetheless instruct us. We must grasp
the historic themes they present to us, like a gift of illumination
beyond anything we have ever known before. The mandate is upon us. The
future is here.
