THE SOOTHESAYER INTERNET

November 2007

Recent History:

For those of us who are aware of the profound consequences of man-made global warming, last month’s tragic spread of wild fires in California is only one more indication of what is yet to come.  For those of us who are in possession of the facts about the roulette-wheel global economy, run by narcissistic Plutocrats, the precipitous fall of the dollar, the rise of oil and gold, and the continuing avalanche of sub-prime loans and their derivative counterparts, comes as no surprise either.  For those of us whose sensibilities are outraged beyond all measure at Pres. Bush and Vice Pres. Cheney’s talk of World War III in connection with Iran’s nuclear program, it does come as a surprise that many of the presidential candidates leading in the polls are on board with the administration on this issue.  Only Ron Paul and Dennis Kusinich demonstrate the clarity and character to be openly opposed, and they do not have a chance of getting their parties’ nominations.  I have great admiration for both of these capable, honest men, who at least have the courage to get the issues before the American public.

As the storm clouds gather, the “cabal” and the self-delusional keep propping the stock market up, elated at the recent lowering of interest rates by the Fed, while hedge funds are collapsing, banks are sliding toward insolvency, and a derivatives disaster is on the horizon.  Nations who have financed U.S. debt are getting out of U.S. dollars and going elsewhere.  Oil is skyrocketing in price and the corporate media is minimizing the whole thing.  We have reached “peak oil” and it is downhill from here on out.

The Economy:

Mercury goes direct on November 2nd and will sextile Pluto on the 9th.  Venus is square Pluto on the 7th.  News will come out that is likely to boost the Dow again.  Gold may get a small hit on the 7th but move up on the 9th.  As you know, I am most bullish on gold.  The cabal is losing its ability to hold down gold prices as it has exhausted its reserves.  However, they will try again from time to time.  Nov. 20th, Venus is square Mars and Mercury is trine Mars and they may make an attempt at that time.  However, each time gold takes a hit, big buyers take the opportunity to get back in.

Our deficit spending staggers the imagination, yet Pres. Bush is asking for more money for the Iraq war.  Congress is likely to fork out at least some of it this month as Mercury goes direct and is sextile Pluto.  Mars in Cancer goes retrograde on the 15th, making war activities even more distasteful to the public.  It goes direct on Jan. 30, 2008 square our nation’s Neptune pushing more deceptive information with regard to prospective military engagements in Iran.  Oil prices will continue to move upward this month as Mercury in Scorpio trines Uranus on the 21st.

Good news is that stocks of corporations who make solar technologies are doing very well, as I have predicted in past newsletters.  Investing in sustainable energies will both make you money and help to mitigate the looming energy and climate crises.  The other sector frequently mentioned here is water.  The droughts in the Southeast and the Western United States are pushing us toward water management and technologies.  The Continent of Asia contains 60% of the world’s population and has only 30% of its fresh water.  Obviously, this sector will grow expansively for many years to come.  The Internet stocks are expanding off the charts at this point but many are so expensive that it is difficult for smaller investors to get in.  Silver has recently risen and I predict that when Jupiter goes into Capricorn December 19th, 2007 through January 5th of 2009, we will see it increase in value.

Politics:

Another female president has been elected: Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, former First Lady of Argentina.  Argentina has brought itself back from a failed economy to a rapidly growing, successful economy and we must pay attention.  Her husband did an excellent job running the country and it looks like she could very well do the same.

On Nov, 12th, Venus goes into Scorpio helping Hillary Clinton increase her lead as we head toward the primaries in ’08.  However, the Mars/Pluto opposition at critical 29 degrees hitting her natal Moon could throw her a surprise curve in January.

I predicted on this site and in my printed newsletters back in 2002 that with the transit of Uranus in Pisces through 2011, we would see the rise of women into positions of global power.  This is an unstoppable wave.

The War:

With Mercury going direct in Libra, followed by Venus in Libra (peacemaking) this month, there could actually be progress between warring factions in Iraq and a movement toward settling some of their differences.  This could also help the crisis between Turkey and the Kurdish section of Iraq to calm down and assess the consequences of engaging in war.  The U.S. could be helpful here.

The scandals around Black Water and tax payer money going out to private mercenaries are shocking people and waking them up to the fact that we have inadequate numbers of already exhausted soldiers doing their best in this terrible black hole war. It is obvious we need to have an exit strategy and I would like to see presidential candidates spell this out clearly instead of a muddled, confused set of generalities around the issue.

Weather and Travel:

Believe it or not, California continues to be at risk between now and December and again March through May 2008.  I have recently constructed and updated their natal chart and tendencies toward drought and earthquakes show up strongly.  The drought in the Southeastern U.S.A may be relieved this month between Nov. 12th and Dec. 1st with the transit of Mercury in Scorpio.  The period of Nov. 1st through Nov. 9th points to pretty good travel conditions.  The 23rd through the 24th, Mercury is square Neptune (Thanksgiving Holiday) making travel conditions more difficult.

Final thoughts:

As we enter the holiday season, it seems to many of us that the year went by so fast we could barely comprehend it!  We have been confronting one crisis after another and inundated with decisions we often do not want to make.  The collapse in housing, melting glaciers, droughts, fires, and seemingly endless war all fight for our attention on a daily basis.

Amidst all of this, we need to be reminded that we have the capacity to change our collective course in ways that may be both known and unknown.  The answers are not outside, but deep within our own hearts and minds.  There is a contemplative silence that holds its truth until we simply ask for it.  “Thy Kingdom come on earth, as it is in heaven”.

Let us all give thanks together for the miracle of life on earth and each other.
