MAY 2007
As the Sun transits the sign
of Taurus symbolizing the earth and it’s teeming multitudes of life, we
are being forced to face the part we are playing in the great mass
extinction of plant and animal life currently underway.
Unlike mega volcanoes erupting or meteors
colliding with earth, this is the first catastrophe we ourselves have
initiated.
From greenhouse warming due to the massive
use of fossil fuels to pollution that poisons the air, the waterways and
the land, our population of approximately 6.5 billion people has so
interfered with nature’s ancient craftsmanship that we may bring it all
to an end.
Already, 70% of the honeybees have died,
severely reducing the necessary cross-pollination process necessary to
agriculture.
Frogs have been dying out all over the
planet.
These are only two examples among countless
others alarming scientists and thinking, caring human beings all over
the world.
Mothers’ Day
On May 13th,
Mothers’ Day, transiting Mars is square Pluto (setting off the March 19th
solar eclipse) and the Sun is square Neptune.
Once again, we are being confronted with the
consequences of violence, war, severe economic inequities, and
environmental destruction.
People who do not face these issues squarely
and commit themselves to the solutions are, quite frankly, going over
the edge of sanity.
The widely examined mass murder/suicide at
Virginia Tech is a symptom of a litany of failures our current
civilization has brought upon itself.
We need to open our eyes.
Business as usual cannot continue.
It has been brought to my
attention that on Mothers’ Day, there will be thousands of mothers,
grandmothers, and great-grandmothers meditating for peace, the
restoration of life, safety for their young, and a new world filled with
hope and light.
I intend to be among these women who will
lift their eyes and hearts in concert with that which is greater than
the self.
This blinding love, like a mother’s for her
child may, indeed, rescue us from oblivion.
The Economy:
You
can expect that this frothy, bull market that I predicted in previous
newsletters will have a crisis this month as Venus opposes Pluto and
Mercury is square Neptune on the 7th,
and Mars is square Pluto as the Sun is square Neptune on the 13th.
These market swings are typical of 1929
scenarios.
I think the real trouble will accompany the
severe crises in September.
Until that point, expect whiplash!
From May 25th
to June 22nd,
the Dow may reach new “highs”.
The derivative bubble is the next to break.
The real estate market is in the worst
downturn in many years, but the worst is yet to come.
Between now and the end of June, houses in
areas not heavily populated by sub-prime buyers will still do reasonably
well.
You can sell your property but have to lower the
price to a more rational level.
The
dollar will continue its fall and may go “under 80”, scaring a lot of
investors who do not fall for the current spin that Europeans and
Japanese will fall all over themselves to come over here and shop in
American malls.
Those of you who read this newsletter
regularly know that I am a Gold Bull. About a year from now
(Spring 2008) gold may reach a major “high”.
This month’s fluctuations are hard to
predict since the “Cabal” will do its best to keep it down amidst
monumental instability in the general markets.
However, it is becoming increasingly more
difficult for them to be effective.
Politics:
The
scandals that plague Washington (deservedly so) will continue to
escalate this month.
The combination of lies, incompetence,
deception and corruption will avalanche into the public eye and can no
longer be avoided or ignored.
The
much-too-early campaigns for President seem to expose the flaws and
frayed nerves behind their rather contrived facades.
It seems to be all about who has the big
bucks.
After the crises coming up in September,
money will not save those who are affected.
The whole picture will change by the time the
primaries take place.
The War:
I truly wish I could see
positive signs of change but the Pluto square Mars points to even more
dire consequences of this war and more lives ended.
The current Iraq government has all but
collapsed and has been ineffective in uniting the ethnic groups fighting
both American soldiers and each other.
A political solution involving other Middle
Eastern nations has been ignored by the Bush administration.
Between May 16th
and June 24th,
Mars transits Aries, escalating the conflict.
Other Nations:
Pakistan
is developing more trouble within its government and this increases
toward the last Saturn/Neptune opposition on June 25th.
The President needs to look over his
shoulder to those who conspire against him.
He is our ally against the terrorists who
cross over from Afghanistan.
France is holding
a runoff election this month that may, once again, be too close to call.
Japan has had a
rash of earthquakes recently and may experience another one this month.
China
will likely announce they are reinvesting their profits in environmental
cleanup projects, scaring multinational corporations.
It is pathetic that doing the right thing
scares off the speculators and investors.
Israel
will experience harsh aspects of the New Moon on the 16th
to their natal Mars.
Consequences for last summer’s attack on
Lebanon will be felt.
Many people of Israel are not aligned with
their current government’s policies.
Weather & Travel:
Between
May 1st
and 15th,
the transit of Mars in Pisces suggests a lot of precipitation and stormy
weather going across the nation from West to East.
Flooding will be a problem.
Best travel dates: the
22nd
through the 23rd.
Final Thoughts:
E.O Wilson,
world-renowned biologist and Harvard University professor, author and
Pulitzer Prize winner wrote recently in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:
“Life
on this planet can stand no more plundering.
Quite apart from obedience to the universal
moral imperative of saving living nature – the Creation – based upon
religion and science alike, conserving biodiversity is the best economic
deal humanity has ever had placed before it since the invention of
agriculture.
The
time to act is now.
Those living today will either win the race
against extinction or lose it for all time.
They will earn either everlasting honor or
everlasting contempt.”
About twenty years ago, I had
a vision that came to me when I was in a deep meditation.
I saw a future of humans orbiting the earth
in satellites looking down on a planet of green forests, clear rivers,
and teaming with life. These people had embraced
a science that restored the health, beauty and magnificence of our
planet.
Just as important was my impression of them
as having an aura of calm intelligence, effortless wisdom, and an inner
peace far in advance of those of us living here today.
Perhaps this is the time for
us to look at all the ills and evils we have avoided through the ages.
Perhaps this is a painful confrontation,
necessary for us to exorcize all the ancient demons who seem to be set
loose, as if the Biblical Book of Revelation written about the Roman
Empire lives again today.
Let us pray for the healing to come, for the
restoration of the gift of life, for a new human vehicle of expression
beyond anything we have ever known before.
