On April 15^th Mars went into the sign of Cancer (the sun sign of the U.S.A. and of Pres. Bush) and will be there until June 3^rd.  Mars is the traditional ruler of violence and war and points to the public’s pressure to end the war in Iraq combined with Pres. Bush’s desire to “stay the course”.  In addition, he is threatening Iran with the possible use of military force to end their uranium enrichment program, which he sees as a threat to global security.  The budget deficits keep rising into the stratosphere to finance this war and will eventually put an end to all programs in the U.S.A. helping the public-at-large, such as Social Security, Disability Insurance, and Medicare.  In the meantime, corporations such as Boeing and Halliburton are wallowing in cash from their military contracts. 

Another part of the Mars in Cancer story is the conflict in the nation over what to do about the millions of undocumented immigrants flooding over the Mexican border and already in the country working at extremely low wages in the U.S.A.  On Monday, there is a public work stoppage on the part of organized immigrants as a demonstration of the necessity of maintaining this workforce.  The real problem lies at the feet of the corporations who hire undocumented workers, who come here in desperate circumstances and whose nation of origin, mainly Mexico, is doing nothing to create jobs there.  We are simply not enforcing the laws protecting labor rights in this nation.  This is part of the successful efforts of giant corporations to eliminate the middle class in the U.S.A., driving wages down, and revoking any responsibility for the consequences.

This nation is starting to come out of its coma and raise strong objections to the administration in Washington, the legislature and Washington in general.  They are weary of the lies about the war in Iraq, wiretapping without a warrant, skyrocketing oil and gas prices, and all this talk about this “healthy economy” and how these energy prices are not “really effecting corporate profits and the general economy”.  The so-called low unemployment figures do not count all the people living with other family members because their unemployment expired and they can’t get a decent job, or all the people with Masters degrees in technology whose jobs have been outsourced who are now working as cashiers at Target and Home Depot on a part-time basis with no health insurance.  The so-called non-inflation exists if you don’t eat, buy a house, purchase health insurance, or put gas in your tank!  

The Economy:

The first week of May looks bullish for Wall Street as Mars, Jupiter and Uranus form a grand water trine, and Mercury trines Pluto.  The housing market will look better this month than people have been led to expect.  Markets may come down more in the second half of the month.  Gold has done extremely well recently but may come down somewhat between the 8^th and the 15^th.  The period between June and August will be the lowest for gold and metals in general but they will come back in a major way between October and November.  There will be new highs in metals markets reached this year and I would advise holding on for the long haul.  Restaurants and pharmaceutical companies may show profits this month as the sign of Cancer rules food and medicine. 

Oil prices will continue their climb upward as oil company executives enjoy record profits and will put up solar mansions in Costa Rica for the time soon to come when they flee the country.

The gap between Wall Street and Main Street continues to widen as corporate profits soar and ordinary people get deeper into debt.  The great “inharmonious convergence” of these two economies will occur in 2008 and the piper will have to be paid. 

Foreign relations:

Although there is talk, due to public pressure, about reducing troops in Iraq, things will continue to get worse this month as Mars in Cancer simply amplifies the violence there.  There will be rebellions in other nations such as the Philippines and other Middle Eastern countries, as demonstrated recently in Egypt.  I am concerned, as stated above, that we may be taking a military action in Iran between now and June.  I sincerely hope this will not happen.

In last month’s newsletter, I mentioned that Bill Gates’ moon was involved in the March 29^th Solar eclipse.  Interestingly, the Prime Minister of China visited him in Washington State prior to his coming to the White House.  This is a “no-no” in diplomatic circles.  You do not visit a corporate head prior to meeting with the President of the U.S.A.  This is a continuation of a number of signals of contempt by the Chinese head of state for Pres. Bush.  China is the second largest holder of our gigantic dept (Japan being the largest holder) and no matter how much we complain about their stealing our technology and attaching their currency to ours, we are inextricably tied to one another.  We have taken advantage of their factory labor force that will work for $.26 an hour under terrible conditions with no environmental constraints.  The Chinese leadership will do pretty much as it pleases, including furthering their efforts to get control of international oil and gas supplies through their deals with Iran, Russia and Venezuela.  The Bush administration has alienated so many other nations, we have even offended Canada, who may be talking to China as well. 

Aspects to look for:

Between now and July, Uranus in Pisces is square the Saturn/Pluto opposition of the 9/11 terror attack.  We will be strongly reminded of the meaning of this event this month

The full moon on the 13^th in the 23^rd degree of Scorpio that is square Neptune points to more scandals in Washington being revealed.  The new moon on the 27^th in the 6^th degree of Gemini sextile Saturn in Leo suggests some excellent movies or televisions events in a journalistic style revealing political and societal events in a new light. 

Weather and travel:

The first week of this month looks pretty good for travel, pointing to clear skies.  From the 6^th through the 19^th, the transit of Mercury in Taurus looks stormy.   

Final Comments:

As we journey through our lives at this historic juncture when most of the news is so depressing that we feel utterly overwhelmed, let us remember all the times when we rose to the occasion, i.e. the American Revolution, the American Civil War, World War 11, the Civil Rights Movement.

We have both the ability and the right to throw people out of our government who represent only the interests of entrenched wealth, exploit fanatical hatreds, and are busy decapitating every law and program that restores health to the environment and power to the people-at-large. It is vitally important that you and I get back into the game and not only for The United States of America but for the future of life on this planet.

Many very impressive prophets believe we are in a time zone in which we are being painfully propelled toward an evolutionary process out of selfishness, greed, warmongering, and suicidal self-destruction.  What awaits us on the other side of this is a new humanity rid of its ancient demons, rising out of the primordial darkness toward a new creation of ourselves as beings of wisdom, intelligence, compassion and light. 

Whoever you are and whatever efforts you make, they are not insignificant!
