The Full Moon on May 31^st connecting to the Uranus/ Jupiter square sets the tone for this month’s quirky inconsistencies and instabilities on many levels, especially in the media and communication industries connected with the sign of Gemini.  Mercury goes retrograde on the 15^th (through July 10^th).  This is not a good time to make significant long-term decisions or sign important documents.  The New Moon  (June 14th-15^th) is opposed to Pluto in Sagittarius and symbolizes conflicts within religious organizations and their political affiliates.  We need to be more critical of our media.  Are things being reported honestly or are we being continually subjected to the “spin” corporate America wants us to hear.  Even more importantly, are we doing our own careful research in the “quest for truth” so important at this historical juncture?

On June 30^th, the Capricorn full moon demonstrates the gap between people in positions of power (Capricorn) and “the people at large” represented by the sign of Cancer.  This lunation is strongly connected with the chart of the U.S.A. and highlights the issues between the small minority of “haves” vs. the large majority of “have nots” both here and abroad.

Finance and the Economy:

With Mars in Aries trine Jupiter and Saturn, sextile Neptune and finally, on the 22^nd, trine Pluto, the Dow will likely continue its frothy upward momentum until a sell-off in July.  There will likely be a continuation of the China “bubble” this month and I would caution people to be very careful not go get caught up in the frenzy.

As I predicted in earlier newsletters, gold has traded down from its earlier highs, but seems to be holding in a small range.  It may take an upward momentum between now and the 19^th.  When Mars goes into Taurus June 25^th through August 7^th, gold may reach its lows.  It will make a comeback between August and September corresponding with Saturn in Leo trine Pluto in August and the transit of Venus in Leo (Venus retrogrades July 27^th in Virgo and goes direct September 8^th back in Leo).  September’s major global crises and instabilities (solar eclipse on September 11^th) will likely cause a significant  correction in the stock market.  By the end of this year, we will be talking about a “recession”.

This is not a good time to try to pass the recent legislation addressing “illegal immigration”.  We need to truly enforce the existing laws and the lack of this enforcement is one more nail in the coffin of a sovereign nation with a real democracy based on the rule of law.  The taxpayer is footing the bill for these people and the corporations are getting a cheap labor force that they can abuse without accountability.  The real problems reside with Mexico and its governmental corruption and lack of a meaningful economy and with the corporations in the U.S.A. looking for a cheap labor force.  This leads to desperation and tragedy for Mexican people and resentment expressed toward undocumented aliens in the U.S.A.  This year’s March 19^th Solar Eclipse square Pluto will be activated again in September and January – March 2008.  There is growing sentiment in this country against undocumented immigrants that will lead to a backlash.

The War in Iraq:

Pres. Bush’s additional troops will not stop the escalating violence in Iraq.  As Venus goes into Leo, he will be compelled to engage in talks with other Middle Eastern nations.  Venus in his first house will compel him to at least put up a front diplomatically although Mars in Aries square his Sun and Saturn will move him toward military expansion from behind the scenes.  Governments of other nations throughout the world are warning him against military engagement with Iran and are now openly hostile to what they view as the out-of-control American Empire.  There will likely be a movement toward ending this war in September but we will have military bases there over the long term to retain control of the oil reserves.  This administration and most of the politicians know we are approaching  “peak oil” on a worldwide basis.  Our fundamental lack of preparation for this is so serious, I do not see how we can avoid the consequences.

Other Nations:

No. Korea

Uranus stations to go retrograde on the 23^rd exactly opposite the coming Solar Eclipse on September 11.  This hits the Sun in the chart of No. Korea, a loose cannon in world affairs.  We need to carefully watch what Kim Jong Il will do as his power may be eroding and he may exhibit irrational behavior. 

Pakistan

This month’s opposition of Saturn to Neptune, combined with the transit of Mars in Aries impacts the horoscopes of the country and its president.  He may decide to bring someone else on board in his administration to keep himself from being deposed.

Israel

The implosion of relations with Palestine and the recent upheaval in Lebanon, are pushing the Israeli people to get rid of their current leaders and put someone else in power.  Sometime between now and early August, there will be an effort to make these changes.  The disengagement of the current U.S. administration with the peace process has been devastating for both nations.  Hopefully, the Israelis will take a fresh approach to their problems.

Venezuela

Recently, Hugo Chavaz closed down a large television station that has participated in a coup to overthrow his government.  This has given him a “black eye” in the news media in the U.S.A.  He continues to be a force in the nations of Central and South America who have resented the intrusion of the U.S.A. in their affairs for years.  He will continue to push his agendas this month and, for the time being, will successfully overcome the opposition.

American Politics:

More candidates will be entering the race for President this month.  Watch Rep. Ron Paul (R Texas) as he appears on the Republican Party Presidential debates.  His honest and brilliant assessment of our conditions economically, in relationship to the war, and the loss of our constitutionally guaranteed rights as citizens is a real eye-opener.  He is getting a lot of response from viewers, most of which is exceedingly positive.  He has the reputation in Washington of not letting a “lobbyist” darken his door.  Do not miss the next debate!

Travel & Weather:

This is a pretty good month to take trips as Mars in Aries is trine Jupiter the first week and is trine Saturn and sextile Neptune the second week.  Mercury retrogrades on the 15^th so take care you are not delayed in airports.  On June 25^th, Mars enters Taurus heading into trouble between the 21^st of July and the 7^th of August.  There will likely be pretty severe hurricanes whipping up in this period of time.

Final Thoughts:

At long last, my book “What Next?  A Survival Guide to the 21^st Century” is going into print.  It will be for sale on this site by June 12^th.

I have been working steadily on this publication for nearly four years.  The research I have done has been a “wake-up call” for me as I have tracked the historic trajectories that have led us to where we are now: at the critical point of choosing either extinction or illumination.

However, I am greatly encouraged at discovering that many people are developing new and innovative technologies that can solve the coming energy crises and are conceiving of new, more egalitarian economic systems and societal transformations.  These pioneers may help us to navigate this “age of transition” from cannibalizing our planet to living in concert with the earth and each other.

Our journey through the great constellations has taken us to this place in time, this powerful historic point, this great challenge to human survival and evolution.  It will take great courage on all our parts to open our hearts and minds to the level of truth needed to fulfill the great prophecies given to us through the ages.  I think we can do it!
