THE AGE of CONSEQUENCES
Astrological Aspects
There are lunations and planetary aspects this month that are forcing us
to wake up and face a landscape of realities we have avoided for a very
long time. There is a solar eclipse at 19 degrees 24 minutes of Cancer
sextile Mars in Virgo on July 11th. There is a full moon in
3 degrees of Aquarius on July 26th while Jupiter and Uranus
both oppose Saturn and square Pluto, as Mercury forms an exact
opposition to Neptune, while Mars is quincunx Neptune. (Mars transits
over all of this the first week of August).
The Military
Last month’s new moon on the Mars of the U.S. brought out a major change
in the military with the exit of General McCrystal and the appointment
of General Petraeus to head up the war in Afghanistan. U.S. and Israeli
troops have been quietly assembling in Eastern Europe, strategically
near Iran. The sextile of Mars (military) to this solar eclipse on the
11th and Mars square the U.S. Mars on the 16th are
revving up for military escalations. Meanwhile, there is a serious
anti-war sentiment developing since most people in the U.S. have no idea
why we are still fighting the longest war in our history. I have
maintained in this newsletter that this is all about oil and gas
resources in these regions and our getting control over them and the
regimes that govern the strategic nations. It is all about having
reached “peak oil” in most of the world’s major oil fields, our
inability to face this fact, and the desperation of a society dependent
on oil as the most efficient source of energy to fuel its industrial and
technological economy. Why else would we be drilling for oil offshore
in dangerously deep waters? The reality is that we should have been
developing sustainable energy technologies for at least thirty years.
The big oil companies bought up many of the patents from the innovative
1970s and have deliberately sat on them to keep them off the market.
The Gulf Oil Eruption
We now have on our watch the biggest and most costly man-made
environmental disaster in U.S. history, rivaled only by the “dust bowl”
catastrophe of the 1930s during the last great depression. The end of
this month, Mars is quincunx Neptune, which suggests another crisis in
this saga. The chart for the Gulf Oil eruption (April 20, 2010, 9:45 PM
CDT, Venice LA, 89W21, 29N16) points to the final containment being in
place by November as the progressed moon completes a sextile with
Saturn. There will be incremental fixes. The first will be in place in
September when transiting Venus and Mars trine Neptune. Another problem
will erupt in Oct., when the Moon is quincunx Neptune and trine Uranus.
However, as relief wells are completed in November, transiting Mars is
square Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn in the Eruption chart in the first
week of December, precipitating another temporary crisis.
Interestingly, this chart has the Sun in Taurus quincunx the Ascendant
in Sagittarius. A similar type of configuration was in the 1986
Challenger disaster, killing all the astronauts on board, and the 2004
Indonesian Tsunami disaster which was the worst in modern history.
Russia and the Solar Eclipse
In the July issue of Dell Horoscope, astrologer Bill Meridian pointed to
this eclipse as historically congruent with leadership changes in
Russia. Interestingly, the end of last month, a Russian spy ring was
uncovered in the U.S.A. As former Pres. Bill Clinton was meeting with
Prime Minister Vladamir Putin, Putin openly criticized us for arresting
these people. Putin was formerly head of the KGB and was likely behind
this. He may be on his way to “retirement” as this will be seen as a
serious mistake. His Libra planets all are square this eclipse which is
on his natal Uranus, whereas Pres. Medvedev’s chart is strengthened.
The Economy
The normal stock market cycles do not apply at this time, usually with
tops at the end of August and falls into October. It will try to come
back early in this month, but will likely fall dramatically toward the
second half of the month through September. The rest of this year will
see huge fluctuations and swings. Over all, the “Age of Consequences”
will mercilessly play out. Unemployment will be increasing this month
with Mars in Virgo, even though jobs will be created in the Gulf Coast
environmental clean-up effort. The so-called Financial Reform Bill, in
its present form, is all but meaningless, with a victory for the banking
giants. I hope those against it in both parties will hold out for
something better in the Fall, but the powers-that-be are pushing this,
especially those whose campaigns have been financed by the global
financialists. This reminds me of the so-called Healthcare Reform Bill
that did little or nothing to substantially reform healthcare.
The war between the dollar and gold will continue. On the 9th
and the 26th, the “Cabal” will likely attempt to take gold
down as first Venus and then Mercury oppose Neptune (deception and
confusion). Mercury is trine Pluto on the 30th, suggesting
some kind of victory for the Plutocrats. As I have said before, the
dollar is likely to peak on Nov. 18th and gold may bottom.
In December, with Mercury, Mars, conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, gold will
likely be viewed as the safe haven.
There will be vain attempts to “reform” Social Security. The financial
Cabal wants to privatize this which, as we all know since 2008, would be
a total disaster. Just as many states have dipped into their Teacher
Retirement systems, our government has found clever ways of dipping into
Social Security, leaving IOUs in the form of Treasuries that, as the
dollar falls in value, become increasingly worthless. It can be
reformed by upping the age of retirement and denying funds to those
whose retirement incomes are over $75,000 a year (restoring them if the
income drops below this level). However, the issue is a hot button with
massive unemployment and more people getting older and more disabled as
time marches on.
Weather:
Between July 26th and August 5th, the highly
stressful planetary aspects suggest serious storm activities, including
hurricane activity. This is not good news for the Gulf.
Final thoughts:
For years, this newsletter has concentrated on exposing and revealing
issues about which I am passionate and upon which astrology can shine
its ancient light. Many people have asked me if there is any hope or
optimism for the future. My answer is a resounding “yes” as I have
suggested a “quiet revolution” that will take us “back to the future”
with locally grown organic farms and gardens, local enterprise, solar
architecture, and a spirit of cooperation among neighbors through a
renewed interest in local community governance.
Recently, I read an article on “Truthout” entitled “A New Deal for Local
Economics” by Stacy Mitchell, who informed us there is a growing
movement in this direction. She points out that there are now 5,274
active farmers markets and a notable development in local shops, leaving
the giant chain stores behind; a reversal from what we have seen in this
country for the past 40 years. She points out that some of the chain
stores are recognizing this by changing their brand name to a “local
shop name”. However, the locals are figuring this out and bringing
their business to those that are authentically home grown. Local
banks, detached from the “bankster” monopolies are beginning to emerge.
Local small manufacturing enterprises are hiring Americans, defying the
outsourcing mania for cheap labor abroad.
More people are turning to health practices that promote and support
health and healing rather than “attacking disease”. Chiropractors,
acupuncturists, nutritionists, homeopathic doctors, naturopaths, are all
being looked at through new lenses, as products pushed by doctors who
have been paid off by “drugsters” in the pharma industries are turning
up with side effects that are as bad or worse than the “disease”. As
obesity has become an epidemic in this nation, we are realizing that a
lack of exercise and consuming mass produced processed foods with high
concentrations of high fructose corn syrup, sugar, salt and saturated
fats may be behind our upswing in chronic disease. We all know our
healthcare system is badly broken as fewer and fewer people are able to
pay for a system whose costs are growing out of control. I think this
nation is getting ready to take control and it all begins with each one
of us making personal decisions about how we envision our lives.
The most important transformation in this century may be an evolution
of our awareness embodying a new experience of what it means to be
human in the highest sense. Already, quantum physics presents us with
multiple probable dimensions which may include consciousness itself. As
we are forced by necessity to leave the old broken systems of belief
behind, we may look to the constellations above as reflective of what is
burning in our own hearts, waiting to break free of the predator/prey
model of mutual self-destruction, waiting for the “peace which passeth
understanding”, waiting for what has been promised by all the prophecies
through the ages - an entirely new dawning of the light.
