THE
SOOTHESAYER INTERNET
July
2007
Those of you who have been regular visitors to this site are familiar
with my warnings with regard to a global economic meltdown due to
unrestrained speculative “bubbles” in real estate and, more importantly,
the unregulated derivatives trade. Last month’s Bear Sterns’ hedge fund
debacle points to what is in store for us as we march toward collective
financial suicide. These implosions will soon be too extensive to stop
by the usual Fed bailouts or bank mergers that have stemmed the tide in
the past.
Mercury is still retrograde this month until the 10th. Last
month, information was released about the history of the CIA in the U.S.
and its evil plots, sometimes executed and sometimes not, since its
creation. More will come out this month. Is the public paying
attention? I recommend the book “America’s War on Terrorism” by Michael
Chossudovsky, a Canadian economist. He writes about an “imperial
crusade” in the U.S. to control the planet for its markets, resources
and cheap exploitable labor.
This is not a particularly good time for Vice Pres. Dick Cheney, the guy
behind Pres. Bush’s “prime directive”, giving him the right to put the
U.S. under “martial law” in the event of any type of crisis. Already,
provisions in the Patriot Act have divested us of our constitutional
rights, but this does not seem to bother either of our leaders.
Congress is investigating the illegal wiretapping, and other illegal
maneuvers. The worst one is the right to arrest a citizen without the
right to a trial if judged an “enemy combatant” by either one of these
“gentlemen”.
The tragedy is that most Americans hardly know what they are losing –
their civil rights, their republic, their democracy.
Mars in Taurus this month would indicate the Vice President may have to
have medical care – the best the world has to offer, while 48 million
Americans are without health insurance altogether. This weekend is a
good time to see Michael Moore’s movie “Sicko”, widely acclaimed by
critics and commentators.
The
Economy:
The
financial “Cabal” has been hard at work this past month, painting
lipstick on a pig. The real estate market has fallen like a rock,
inflation is following the price of oil (up on Friday over $70 a barrel)
skyward, food prices are rising rapidly due the insane rush to use corn
for ethanol (corn products are in everything) and hedge fund trading is
the cause of many people headed toward cardiac arrest!
Homeowners’ insurance on all the coastal areas of the U.S. has
skyrocketed as we get ready for the hurricane season. July 23rd
through August 2nd will be a tough time for financial markets
as Mars is square Neptune and Saturn. This is also bearish for gold.
The August 12th new Moon in Leo followed by Venus in Leo
trine Pluto on August 16th may bring gold back for a while
until it comes down again, with everything else under the critical
aspects to the September 11th eclipse. Hang onto your gold
shares because they will pay off in a major way in 2008.
The
transit of Mars in Taurus will lead to more sub-prime loan foreclosures
and plunge in the stock of real estate corporations.
Politics and the War:
The same transit of Mars in Taurus squaring both Neptune and Saturn this
month is extremely difficult in the astrological charts of Israel and
Palestine. These tensions will be reaching crisis proportions, to the
point that the U.S. will have to intervene. Pres. Bush’s policy of
abandoning the peace talks since he took office in 2001 have been
catastrophic for both nations and many feel it was one of the causes of
the 9/11 attack.
The
other cause is U.S. military occupations in the Middle East, in order to
dominate the oil reserves. In my opinion, the real reason for the Iraq
war is we have already reached global “peak oil” and our current leaders
believe military takeover is the only way to insure American
civilization will not collapse.
Instead of leading the world in the direction of sustainable energy, new
inventions, and significant reduction in the use of fossil fuels, U.S.
leaders are going for a military dictatorship both here and abroad. A
“fuse” will be lit this month in the imploding relationship between the
Israelis and Palestinians.
This month, the war in Iraq will continue to escalate its destruction
far and wide. When Saturn goes into Virgo in September, this
administration will be forced to make “withdrawal” noises.
Other Nations:
No. Korea took steps last month to dismantle its nuclear capability as
Uranus stationed opposite their natal Sun. This is good news. However,
we must watch the unstable Solar Eclipse this September 11th,
opposite Uranus and square Mars, all of which point to extreme
instability there.
Pakistan still has problems with ethnic upheaval this month through
early August, as Mars in Taurus marches toward it’s square with Saturn
on August 1st. The President of this nation is a Leo and the
Mars/Saturn square at the end of this month hits him hard.
Cuban President Fidel Castro, (also a Leo) recovering from a serious
illness, will have difficulty at the end of this month with this harsh
aspect. He is currently gloating over the release of the CIA’s records
highlighting their attempt to kill him back in 1960.
India will have difficulty with the Mars transit with respect to severe
weather and earthquake activity.
Weather and Travel:
Watch out between the 22nd and the 31st as severe
weather, flooding and high winds (hurricanes and tornadoes) are more
likely to occur in the U.S.A. at this time. Mercury goes direct on the
10th and will help travelers between the 9th and
the 10th. Mars inconjunct Pluto on July 31st is a
severely dangerous aspect and I would avoid traveling on that date.
Final Thoughts:
I am often struck by how frequently I hear from politicians and CEOs
that we have to “be practical” concerning solutions to the monumental
issues confronting us today. We can’t possibly manufacture (already
designed and engineered) cars that could get 60 to 100 miles per gallon;
solar energy is not a viable solution to energy concerns; small organic
farms cannot possibly replace giant agri-businesses; we certainly could
not have fair and universal healthcare; affordable public transportation
is not economically viable; we can’t just “leave” Iraq, etc.,etc.,etc....
As
long as militant corporate America dominates the discourse, finances all
the campaigns, manipulates markets, lobbies the legislature literally to
death, and continues to prop up the credit/debt bubble, little or
nothing will be accomplished. It will take a shake-up of historical
proportions and a massive capital failure to fundamentally change
everything and, unfortunately, this will be the ultimate practical
solution.
In
the meantime, many of us are building our solar houses, planting our
local organic gardens, writing books and articles, inventing new energy
technologies, joining community cooperatives. We are experiencing an
awakening and a new energy we have never quite felt before. Whatever
time we have left on this magnificent life-giving planet, we are
determined to bring it back from the brink of extinction, and ourselves
with it. All in all, we are very, very practical. |
