Happy New Year!
The Saturn/Pluto Square
The operation was a success but the patient died!
Last years “accomplishments” are a series of surgeries
and “repairs” that have led to the corporate controlled media
“announcing” that according to Wall Street, the stock market and the
bonus laden “banksters”, we are in an economic “recovery” and have
avoided another Great Depression. Meanwhile, foreclosures,
homelessness, and millions of jobs lost have people languishing in the
ER while the middle class in this nation is DOA. The global derivatives
casino trade encompassing more than a quadrillion dollars is not being
touched by the feeble attempts at regulation. The health insurance
companies successfully controlled the agenda for a health care reform
bill which, in its present form, will kill the patient financially, if
not literally. Manufacturing and technology is still “outsourced” to
cheap labor abroad. We do not “make” anything in the U.S. any more and
are “dying” on the operating table as a viable nation as a direct
result.
The ailing nations of Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Greece,
Spain and Portugal are headed into default, leading to a brief upward
movement into the dollar and a correction in gold. We are sending
30,000 more troops into Afghanistan while the current crop of terrorists
are spawning in Yemen, Somalia, and Nigeria and hiding out in the tribal
regions of Pakistan. The Obama administration, who so graciously
proclaimed international cooperation and respect early last year and was
awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, is continuing American imperialism with
the policy of invading sovereign nations to catch a small number of
young fanatical sociopaths intent on terror attacks. This has been
reinforced by the recent attempt of a young Nigerian to blow up a plane
headed to the U.S.A. This war policy is analogous to blowing up
Brooklyn to catch a few hundred members of the mob. He has continued
the support for the Patriot Act and wiretapping with no legal
restrictions. Absolutely no progress has been made in reducing
greenhouse gasses and worse still, no preparations are being made in the
nations and regions most at risk at becoming uninhabitable as the result
of escalating climate change. Massive investment in sustainability,
i.e. solar, geothermal, windmill, etc. to prepare us for the end of the
age of oil simply has not taken place.
Mainstream television “news” has spent its capital on
Michael Jackson’s demise, the Tiger Woods meltdown and sex scandal,
numerous politicians’ sex scandals (former Sen. John Edwards and Gov.
Mark Sanford), white house party-crashers, and the mindless meanderings
of Ex-governor Sarah Palin and her extended family, while there is a
literal blackout on news from Israel, the Palestinians, and Iraq whose
activities are at the center of our military-backed Middle Eastern
policies. The coverage on Iran is superficial, confused, and biased,
lacking any meaningful historic background as to how or why they may be
moving toward nuclear arms. Politically, the media gives more time to
the idiotic ramblings of Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck who are laying
claim to being the voices of the Republican Party. The Republicans are
busy spewing hate, Dick Cheney style, and voting against everything;
that is, after taking eight years to ruin everything. The Democrats are
still controlled by corporate and financial lobbyists, having abandoned
their populist origins many years ago, motivating the outraged
Progressives to move toward independence and the public wanting to throw
them out of office.
What lies ahead?
Mercury is retrograde until the 15th and
Jupiter finishes its transit in high-tech publicity oriented Aquarius,
moving into sensitive, chemically oriented Pisces on the 18th.
Also on the 15th, a solar eclipse at 25 degrees Capricorn
conjunct Venus, occurs, making that date very powerful. Escalating
currency crises and peaceniks, both Venus ruled, will be making
headlines. Venus eclipses also tend to correspond with sex scandals of
which we are very, very weary.
Jupiter in Pisces will seem to help the economy in
February and March. The Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn is
exact the end of this month, and will be so again in August, escalating
the economic and social crises on a global scale. Mars in Leo goes
direct on March 10th and goes through the sign through June 7th,
activating tensions in the chart of Israel. Saturn retrogrades back
into Virgo in April, opposing both Uranus and Jupiter in Pisces in May.
An important Lunar Eclipse occurs on June 26th, conjunct
Pluto, leading to a grand t-square of Mars (in Libra), Jupiter (in
Aries), Saturn (in Libra), Uranus (in Aries) and Pluto (in Capricorn)
the end of July/early August. These placements exactly square and
oppose Venus in the U.S.A chart, Uranus in the chart of China, and the
sun in the chart of Pakistan. In April of 1986, a Lunar Eclipse took
place, conjunct Pluto in Scorpio. This lined up with the Chernobyl
nuclear meltdown and later, the Bhopal, India chemical disaster. These
placements foretell the following:
n
More major upheavals and crises, especially in Pakistan,
Afghanistan, India, Iran, and Mexico,
n
Pisces and Virgo oppositions point to tsunamis, volcanic
eruptions, and earthquakes, especially in the Pacific regions. A large
volcano has already started to erupt in the Philippines,
n
More economic defaults, worker layoffs, another major
stock market crisis in the US, and another major movement upward in gold
as a defense against currency devaluations, while interest rates on
borrowing will move up, in spite of the Federal Reserve, and the housing
market will not reach a bottom until 2011,
n
Movements throughout the world toward revolution and
overthrowing their leaders and governments, alongside tendencies toward
nationalism and anti-immigration policies,
n
A movement in the U.S. toward a populist third party and
the elimination of the Federal Reserve, alongside severe deficits
mandating significant cuts being made in Social Security and Medicare,
n
As our military forces escalate, a national anti-war
movement will gain traction. At the same time, there will be those who
will want to reinstitute the draft,
n
Some kind of nuclear crisis and/or chemical or oil spill
with significant environmental consequences,
n
A powerful movement in the government of Israel toward a
military strike, possibly in Iran.
n
The highly praised “bubble” economy of China will be
troubled and they will face discontent among their people. Tectonic
instabilities and environmental pollution add up to pressures on the
government that will be difficult to address.
n
Brazil’s Uranus/Neptune conjunction in its chart is being
hit by Pluto, growing into a harmonious earth trine later on. Their
commodity economy, largely consumer-driven, will continue to grow, but
at the expense of devastating their rain forests, adding another threat
to already escalating global climate extremes. Their elections in the
Fall will run into problems related to the Saturn opposition Jupiter and
Uranus that begins hitting their chart in the Spring.
Is there anything hopeful out there?
Those who have read my book and newsletters know that I
am not Little Mary Sunshine. It is my experience that we need to know
truths and find it within ourselves to face them, head on. As a nation,
we need to stop acting like an abused wife, who keeps getting beaten up,
but continues to stay in a bad marriage, caught in a syndrome of
intimidation and helplessness. There is a tendency to “go crazy”,
rebelling in general but doing nothing to really change the control of
the financial Plutocracy on our government and on our lives. This is
all about waking up and taking back our liberties and the right to “the
pursuit of happiness”.
On a practical level, I have some suggestions, some of
which I have been making for a number of years. For the time being,
gold and energy are good places to be, along with holding reserves of
cash. Comex gold finished this year with a 23% gain while the stock
market has officially ended the decade “flat”. I suggest subscribing to
the LeMetropole Café, a great online newsletter that not only helps you
buy gold, but is a “truthteller” about what is really going on in the
economy. Goldmoney.com is a good site to visit and a reliable place to
buy and sell gold and silver. The Huffington Post (www.huffingtonpost.com)
came up with a great idea recently and that is to get into local smaller
and highly rated regional banks. You will be doing business with those
who did not get into the sub-prime lending frenzy and are likely to
remain solvent during the tough times. Reduce or eliminate your debt.
If you have lost your job and/or your house, band together with family,
friends, and neighbors, and share housing and resources. Get more
involved in local politics. There is evidence that state Supreme Courts
may rule in favor of homeowners facing foreclosure due to the lack of
legality of entities issuing the foreclosures. I have predicted that we
will get “ruthlessly local” for a while. We need to concentrate on
local organic gardening and farming and paying attention to conserving
and recycling water. Civil systems need repair and we have taken these
things for granted for generations. We are witnessing a huge disparity
between a relative handful of very rich people and the larger percentage
of people moving into poverty. We will be battling these trends until
major planetary changes in direction occur in the 2020s.
Final Thoughts:
The great persons in history did not start out as great
persons in history, but learned to tap the strength, intelligence and
resolve within themselves. In the process, they led others to a new
level of awareness and self-determination. It is always about taking
the responsibility to be aware of what is happening, refusing to go into
“denial, and recognizing that we have the ability to tap into a greater
and higher power that does not reside “out there” but deep within our
hearts. The most painful and serious crises in our lives can lead us to
recognize how to reinvent ourselves at an elevated level, moving within
a new resonance, singing a new song.
Humanity is approaching a “near death experience” that
can lead us into extinction or evolution. Those of us who have survived
this kind of event within the span of our personal lives, know that we
are changed forever. We know that respect for the sacredness of the
earth, appreciation for the gift of life, and the revelation of the
eternity of existence alter our outlook and journey through this
reality.
From the glorious array of stars above to the smallest
act of kindness, I see evidence that enlightenment is at work in the
world.
