THE SOOTHESAYER INTERNET February 2006The New Moon opposite Saturn on Jan. 29th in the 10th degree of Aquarius is a signature that should lead us to be very cautious in February, especially with regard to our investments, partnerships, and alliances. Many of us will continue to separate ourselves from the people we have supported politically on both sides of the isle. Mercury, the planet of information and communication continues its transit through Aquarius and forms a conjunction with Neptune between the 1st and the 2nd, and a square with transiting Mars in Taurus between Feb. 5th and 6th. Information will arise that starts a downward movement in financial markets. This is also a highly accident-prone environment and we should all be extraordinarily careful while driving or operating equipment or machinery. Computers may be prone to the invasion of a virus, so back up your information and your sites. This same aspect tends to promote more insurgent violence in Iraq.
The Economy and Financial Markets.My take this month is that there will be a generalized uncertainty in financial markets and the "plunge protection group" will have a difficult time propping up the Dow and the Nasdaq. I think that gold will take a "correction" this month, only to rise again with relation to the severe crises ahead in March, as Jupiter is square Neptune. Last month, information was released that in the U.S.A., the rich are getting richer and the middle class and the poor are getting poorer. This trend has been in effect for years and is now accelerating. Oil will likely fall in price this month as well. We must remember that within a very few years, we are headed into a worldwide crisis as peak oil is reached in a number of locations, and the consumption of oil increases with relation to China and India entering strongly into these markets. The big picture is that we are entering the end of the Age of Oil that could terminate civilization as we know it. In the short term, the behind-the-scenes manipulators will lower oil and gas stock prices with respect to the warmer winter. Venus goes direct in Capricorn on Feb. 3rd. Since Venus "rules" currency, it will be interesting to watch what currencies rise and fall at this time and to what degree confidence either rises or falls in the dollar. Recently, more and more nations are trading oil in Eurodollars as nations become more and more alienated by American policies. On the 14th, Mercury is conjunct Uranus and by the 28th, it is square Pluto whose position is at the center of the galaxy. The severe political and environmental crises precipitated by these aspects, emphasized by Mercury retrograde in March, will scare a lot of people into a realization that the economy is built on a speculative house of cards!
Politics and the War:In recent past newsletters, I have written about the period starting about Feb. 24th through April 14th of this year. The Full Moon on Feb. 27th conjunct Uranus and square Mars, The Mercury (communication and travel) in Pisces square Pluto (crisis) in Sagittarius the end of this month and again around April 13th, transiting Mars (war and violence) in Gemini (the sign of both Uranus and Mars in the U.S.A. chart) all add up to an explosive cocktail of violence. This is coupled with confusion about information that will make things boil over in Iraq and perhaps involve both Syria and Iran. The eclipses in March foretell a possible attack on the U.S.A., the irruption of a volcano, accidents or attacks connected with ships, possible oil spills and the breaking of another scandal in the government. What is important at times like these is not to panic! We need to step back from situations that tend to inundate us with so much bad news, and take stock of what is really at stake here. Piece by piece, we need to sort out the information from trusted sources. Unfortunately, the style of the mass media today is "spin" by powerful politicians and corporations who own the newspapers, magazines and television stations. Frequently, we ourselves tend to want to escape from reality, but it is critical that we realize that ONLY THE TRUTH can set us free!
Weather & Travel:The above- mentioned aspects set us up for high winds, (especially Feb. 5-6), and later on through the middle of April, heavy rains and flooding, especially on the East Coast of the U.S.A. Many plans for traveling may be cancelled due to weather conditions and uncertainties conveyed by Homeland Security. If ever it was a time to play it safe, it is now.
Health and Medicine:Pisces is a sign associated with drugs, and as Uranus has been transiting Pisces since 2003, there have been many breakthroughs in medicine and quite a few drugs that have been revealed to be hazardous. (Remember the recent Vioxx scandal at Merck). In this general time period, February through mid-April, we should be very cautious with regard to drugs in general if they are released for public consumption during this cycle. There may also be released information about chemical weaponry (perhaps from Iraq’s arsenal), more drugs pulled from the market, and exposure of knowledge about illegal substances. My advice during this period (which I will take myself), is drink bottled purified water, get lots of rest, stay away from crowds, and meditate on a daily basis. Exercise consistently at least three times a week, using techniques that are not extremely stressful.
Final Thoughts:This month’s Full Moon on the 27th in the 10th degree of Pisces is the degree of the "psychic detective". This is a degree that appears frequently in the charts of psychics like Edgar Cayce, and whistleblowers who report truths that powerful people do not want "outed". This gives all of us the opportunity to open ourselves up to information beyond the ordinary, listen to our intuitive faculties, ask for help and guidance that gets us beyond the barriers of pre-existing anger and fear. Then put it to the test. Do your homework in the "objective" world to see if there is a correlation between what your "gut" tells you and what is happening in the world-at-large. We live in a historic time that is critical for human civilization and there is no hope for us as long as we allow ourselves to fall into a kind of anesthesia of purposefully "spun" pack of lies and half-truths. We all have to admit to ourselves that we have made mistakes and the human tendency is to cover that up. Sometimes truth is painful, but there is a kind of relief and inner peace when we face it squarely. And when we do, we have proven over and over again that we can rise to the occasion, correct our course, and invent our way out of the crisis. America has at its core a love of liberty, a faith in humanity, and a belief in self-governance that can lead us out of the darkest hour into a time of enlightenment, wisdom and resolve that has too seldom expressed itself in our history.
