The
Great American Scheme
Scheme No. 1: President Obama is announcing his decision to send
another 30 to 35 thousand troops into Afghanistan with the hope of
“eventually” stabilizing an ungovernable, fragmented, tribal, dry,
mountainous region with a long history behind it of nations defeated in
their efforts made at doing the same thing. We know that the terrorists
we were looking for have left and the Taliban simply gets stronger the
longer we are there. We know our nation is already going bankrupt from
the mind-boggling expense of conducting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan at
the same time our financial system teeters on collapse. So, what are
they thinking? The giant trans-Afghan gas pipeline was built there in
the 1990’s with the explicit purpose of bypassing Iran and Russia. This
is another war about control over fossil fuel deposits. Secondarily,
one of the few areas where employment still exists is in the military
service. Many recent veterans are returning home, unable to find jobs
and, worse still, many are homeless.
Scheme No. 2: Goldman Sachs’ CEO is apologizing for the trouble they
may have created for the economy, while they are raking in giant
bonuses and trading trillions of dollars in derivative casinos and, like
other financial institutions, are not lending money. The bubble machine
keeps bubbling in financial markets with traders hoping to make a buck
or two before reality sets in and a second stock market crash occurs in
2010. The financial scandal I predicted last month happened exactly
when I said it would, and Dubai announced that it will not use its
sovereign wealth to bail out its private debtors. Dubai may be a
template of what is to come in many other nations. New questions are
being raised about sovereign wealth funds and their capabilities in a
global financial crisis. Here in the U.S., we are chafing from bailing
out the banksters and abandoning ordinary citizens as they lose their
jobs, their homes, and the lives they thought they had. I roar with
laughter at the Republicans whose only solution is to lower taxes. On
whom? We could list the already rich bonus-laden CEOs, or the
unemployed who have no income or property to tax, or maybe those in
Congress who live off taxpayers’ money. The American Dream has
officially become the American Scheme. And it will inevitably get
busted!
The
Economy:
This month’s lunations, including a lunar eclipse in Cancer on the 31st,
are lead-ins to the January 15, 2010 solar eclipse conjunct Venus.
Along with the Pluto/Saturn square, they target the dollar and our U.S.
financial axis. These configurations also target our relationship with
China and Japan and their national charts. Japan’s economy has gone
from bad to worse as the U.S. consumer is disappearing and they own
large amounts of U.S. treasuries based on a continually weakening
dollar. The Mercury/Mars inconjunct this month (both going retrograde)
hits Japan’s chart and is very negative for their stock market. China
has already announced they will reduce their involvement in our debt and
they realize the dollar is declining in its international status and
viability. Our relationship with these two nations will suffer
significant strain.
The
Cancer/Capricorn axis also dominates the chart of the U.S. Federal
Reserve. The bill to audit them has just come out of committee in
Congress and will go on the floor for a vote. Will the legislature have
the guts to do this or not? If it doesn’t do it now, it will probably
do something of this magnitude later. The chart of the Federal Reserve
is being hit with planetary patterns ensuring either its destruction or
its significant restructuring. Aspects are presenting themselves that
have not occurred since the Andrew Jackson presidency, and we all know
he closed down the federal central bank. Jacksonian Democracy may be
making a comeback!
The
gold bull market continues to show considerable strength, even when the
dollar goes up a little and some gold is sold. Mars goes retrograde on
the 20th and Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th.
There may be some trend reversals at this time, but as the dollar and
other fiat currencies lose status, more big money, including sovereign
wealth funds will be buying gold. The corporate media is still pushing
the notion that instability in global markets (such as the recent Dubai
fiasco) brings people back into the dollar, but this is much less a
factor than it was in the past. Gold is now seen as money that has no
national stamp on it.
Financial markets are likely to be up this month, through the 21st,
as Jupiter and Neptune are conjunct and sextile Venus. Venus in
Sagittarius points to consumers increasing their buying, but much of
their shopping will be for discounts, so real profits may be slim.
Health
& Medicine:
As
Mercury and Mars go retrograde in a tense aspect to one another, rumors
about Swine Flu vaccines being dangerous will discourage many people
from getting them. There is also likely to be confusion around the
issue and poor communication with the public in general. Although the
Swine Flu is present all over the world, it is not as severe as
originally thought. My take is that there is another infectious disease
brewing that we know little or nothing about. All this points to the
importance of a good diet, taking supplements (such as Vitamin D-3),
regular exercise, and a positive mental outlook. We need to envision
ourselves operating on a new level of consciousness at a “higher”
vibratory level.
Healthcare reform is still languishing in the Senate. There is nothing
in this that will truly fix what is wrong with our system. If anything
passes, it will be before the 26th, when Mercury goes
retrograde. A better time would be between February and March of next
year.
Final
Thoughts:
Amidst all the chaos and crisis that seems to envelope our planet day
after day, there is a growing undercurrent in our mass consciousness
that is amazing and inspiring. Ordinary people who struggle every day
are reaching out to others in this season and giving more than ever, of
their time, their talent, and their compassion to those less fortunate.
While the mass media is absorbed with stories of hate, violent acts, and
foul mouthed shouting matches, the less visible are quietly reaching out
to their neighbors with baskets of food, toys, and donations. From the
grass roots and off the record, we are partaking of a new energy,
participating together in a new vision for humanity. This vision has
been with us through the ages; the journey into the “promised land”, a
dark night in Bethlehem lit by a single star, a prophecy of a new earth
divested of the pain and suffering that has characterized the human
journey for so long. The Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year,
is a reminder that rather than the end, it is the beginning of our
heart’s humble journey back into the light where all is understood.
May
your holidays be filled with fellowship, peace, and joyous reunions.
