The Titanic Tips Downward:

 This month’s eclipses highlight the virtual avalanche of Washington corruption scandals irrupting into the headlines.  The August 1st solar eclipse lands on the Mercury, Ascendant and Pluto of Pres. Bush just as his progressed Moon is square his natal Moon in Libra (the law).  He will no longer be able to hide his violations of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the rule of law.  He may also be facing personal issues connected to elder members of his family, possibly his father.  Saturn hits his natal Mars in the second house of the economy with more bad news that will get even worse between October and November when it is square his natal Uranus and opposing transiting Uranus. The lunar eclipse in Aquarius on August 16th lands near the U.S.A. moon and is square Vice Pres. Dick Cheney’s planets in Taurus, revealing plots and conspiracies he would prefer be hidden from view, adding stress to his health.

 At the end of the month, the Democratic Convention nominating Sen. Barak Obama for President, will have to occupy headlines with Mercury and Venus square Pluto highlighting serious natural disasters, more bank failures, derivative and hedge fund collapses,  and sell offs (the week of the 24th) in financial markets.  Certainly, this is the time for Sen. Obama to inspire the country to make a change in leadership.

 The Ship of State is sinking, the economy is drowning, and this country’s citizens are swimming around in an ocean of debt without a raft!

Speaking of the Economy . . . .

 I am of the opinion that Ben Bernanke was clueless about what he was getting into when he accepted the post of Federal Reserve Chairman.  For about twenty years, this nation’s political leadership bought into the idea that regulation of the economy, financial markets and the banking system had to be systematically removed, “financializing´ the economy into a global crap game, ignoring the real economics of Main Street, fomenting possibly the greatest economic disaster of all time. Exotic derivative trade was not only allowed, but encouraged (Allen Greenspan) while ordinary people were brainwashed into using their credit cards and mortgages like ATM machines, launching a debt crisis that will soon reveal banks to be insolvent and will stop all lending, bringing the economy to a screeching halt.

 Those of you that have been evaluating this site’s economic predictions, take note that I have warned about these practices for years, recommended sectors for investment over and over again (energy, farm commodities, water, and gold), and pointed out that the Dow and the Nasdaq are manipulated repeatedly by large financial entities who use derivates to disguise the true state of affairs.  I predicted last month that the Cabal would bring down the price of oil and they will continue this effort this month.  The idiocy of the McCain campaign to suggest that drilling for oil will ultimately change anything in the near future is beyond belief.  We have reached global “peak oil” and the planet has reached “peak tolerance” for fossil fuel based carbons causing a level of climate change that would extinguish life.

 This month may sporadically offer buying opportunities for gold, the oldest real currency, that will reach all-time highs between October and November as big financial firms and sovereign wealth funds will rush into this sector. The efforts to prop up the dollar will likely fail as raising interest rates would tank the banks sooner rather than later.  The banks will tank anyway.  This system will fail.  The question will be this.  Is it possible to create an entirely new system next year on the ashes of the old one?  Will we have the kind of intelligent and imaginative leadership to invent something new as those criminals who destroyed this one flee the country?  Will “the people” know who did what and how or will this nation descend into mindless anarchy? 

Don’t Fool with Mother Nature!

 The past several months have been filled with significant natural disasters effecting highly populated regions of the world, i.e. typhoons, tornadoes, fires and earthquakes.

The chart of the state of California is particularly affected this month as Pluto in Sagittarius in their first house continues to square Jupiter at around 29 degrees Virgo.  Mars, Venus and Mercury respectively hit this Jupiter square Pluto on the 17th, the 28th and the 29th  of  this month. This also amplifies the possibility of hurricanes, since this is the season for such happenings.

Foreign Relations:

 I have been commenting for some time that there would likely be crises in leadership in ISRAEL.   Prime Minister Omert is on his way out and the question will be who will be coming in.  Peace agreements will be revived in September as Mercury, Venus and Mars transit Libra, but Israel will be in upheaval again as Venus and Mars transit Scorpio and Square Neptune in October and November.  This could revive the movement to start a war in Iran. 

 This month’s eclipses are tough on the chart of  PAKISTAN.   The U.S. is subsidizing nuclear weapon development in India, which is an outrage to this nation who is supposedly cooperating with us.  The nation’s economy is tanking and they are having major problems with electricity and infrastructure in general.  Our government is attacking the tribal border regions with Afghanistan in an attempt to take out terrorists.  They have nuclear weapons.  There will be civil conflict in this nation this month.

 CHINA’S hosting of the Olympics this month is just plain bad luck.  With Mercury, Venus and Mars opposing Uranus and square Pluto, there will be problems and glitches all the way around, making it difficult for the games to take place smoothly.  This is not their fault – just bad timing.

 TURKEY’S chart is set off by Pluto’s transit back into an opposition with it’s Moon through Nov. 27th of this year.  This month’s Virgo transits set off this opposition highlighting the internal factions vying for power in this government, i.e. the secular versus the religious forces.  This will also stir up the Kurds in Iraq who pose a continual threat to the Turks.

 The August 1st solar eclipse hits the ascendant of SO. AFRICA, exposing the tragic lack of leadership and progress toward economic opportunity in this nation.  Giant western agri-business has hurt local farmers here to the point they have trouble feeding themselves as the result of skyrocketing grain prices.  This is a terrible consequence shared in most African nations, who are also plagued with droughts as global warming heats up the continent.

Final Thoughts:

 The great constellations in our universe are speaking to us in a language that is no longer reserved for the gods.  They are mandating that we no longer hold onto the ancient tendencies that have marked the demise of human civilizations for thousands of years.  They are demanding that we put away selfishness, greed, violence and war and are telling us that these demons are not a structural part of the human psyche.  It is time to let it all go and move into concert with nature and cooperation with one another – to witness a rebirth of the highest expression that life can be here on earth.

 In that spirit, my family and I are moving to Ithaca, New York into an energy-efficient home, surrounded by organic gardens and farms and a culture of sustainability and cooperation for the greater good.  In the center of the city are Cornell University, a leader in engineering, agriculture and ecological science, and Ithaca College in music and the liberal arts.  The beauty of the mountains and the Finger Lakes inspires us and we hope this location (inland to a place of elevation with plenty of potable water) will protect us from the consequences of climate change to come.  We take seriously the words of M.  Ghandi: “We must be the change we wish to see in the world”.

 My book: “What Next?  A Survival Guide to the 21st Century” is getting more attention largely because so many of the forecasts in the book have come to pass.  This is leading to my making appearances on radio and television shows.  I am honored that “The Mountain Astrologer” will soon be reviewing my book in their online publication.

 The purpose of this site and my book is to reveal truths that have previously been hidden from us.  It is to renew hope for us all that this historic era is not just an exercise in futility, but a necessary part of the great transition from darkness into light for each and every one of us.  The prophets and sages through the ages have prepared us for this moment.  The time is now.
